I first found out about diving and the underwater world.

Starting working at a dive centre as a boat crew, I couldn't wait to start the adventure of going below the surface.

While working as a dive guide on the Gili islands, I met my wife Gina from Holland.

She first fell in love with Indonesia’s ocean, and not much later also with me.

We moved to my home Island Flores, when Flores was still quite undiscovered.

Now, since a few years, not only diving Komodo National Park has become part of many bucket lists. People from all over the world are awaiting to explore overland tours and enjoying the wellness & culture that we have to offer.

With the most beautiful sunset views, we are satisfied to live with our small family here in Flores. But the legs of a seamen gets restless when not kicking, and so, I started to cruise again. I am able and honored to guide you in and around Komodo, Maumere, Alor, Saumlaki, Banda, Ambon, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat, Halmahera, Bitung, Kaimana and more.

Operating in tourism, i have worked with people from all different backgrounds.

The dive community knows me as ‘ Stefan Afro’ or Stefan Eagle eye.

With over 10.000 dives, I know how to prioritise safety, while making your experience joyful and the best.

Born in a rice village, i am a proudly 100% local. With my Western wife next to me going through life, i do speak the western language. I love to educate travel friends about history, culture, ocean species and the natural wonders our Archipelago has to offer.

#BUILDBYLOCAL

This isn’t a tagline. It’s how we operate.

  • We prioritize local crews and operators

  • We recommend honestly, even if it means saying no

  • We believe sustainable tourism starts with fair partnerships

  • We aim to leave positive impact, not just good reviews

When you travel with Indo Aura, you support a wider ecosystem of people who protect and depend on this sea.

Our vision is to become a trusted name for meaningful dive travel in Komodo where guests feel cared for, locals feel respected, and the ocean is treated as a living space, not a product.

We envision a future where:

  • Diving is slower, safer, and more intentional

  • Local knowledge leads planning decisions

  • Travel creates understanding, not extraction

An Invitation

If you’re looking for loud promises and mass packages, we’re probably not for you.

But if you’re curious about diving Komodo with awareness, humility, and local guidance —
you’re in the right place.
